Tyler Duncan

Tyler Duncan is Colibri’s Chief Development Officer. Perhaps a mouthful, the title, but Tyler’s role is straightforward: He accelerates strategic progress by finding partners who share our mission, vision, and values. Then, he figures out the best way for us to work together, whether through mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships. 

When he’s not acquiring new business, Tyler’s hitting the slopes on his annual ski trip (plural, if he’s lucky) to Montana with friends and family. At home in Pittsburgh, he helps his wife — a known animal lover (one might say, “whisperer”?) — care for their many cats and other cuddly creatures she gives her heart to. The couple met in Warren, Pennsylvania during a Colibri-related business trip.

Tyler’s favorite Colibri core value is love: “Love is not always easy, but I try to apply it to how I show up, whether it’s with customers, co-workers, partners, or founders,” he says. “Love means being honest and compassionate, especially when things get tough. At Colibri, we keep score and results matter, but we don’t do that at the expense of people.”

In his time at Colibri (10 years!), Tyler has worn many hats, including general manager, director of real estate, director of marketing, VP of corporate development and finance, and CFO when the company was just getting off the ground. Prior to Colibri, he worked at Alpine Investors as an associate and analyst intern alongside Mike Duran, our executive chairman. 

Tyler holds a BSBA in accounting and economics from The Ohio State University.
